Kristin Wharton serves as the Assistant Dean of Student Life and Director of Retention Services. Kristin received a bachelor's degree from Wingate University and a master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has experience working in academic advising, student support, campus activities, fraternity and sorority life, admissions, job recruiting, and privatized housing. Originally from West Virginia, Kristin enjoys reading, exploring new music, crafting, serving as an advisor for the Chi Omega fraternity, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her rescue pup.

Carol Whitley, Assistant Director of Retention Services, has her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Wingate College. During her 20 years of working at Wingate University, Carol worked in both the Admissions and Student Financial Planning Offices for many years prior to moving into her current position in the Student Success Office. Carol enjoys spending time outside, especially at the beach and pool, and at athletic events as a high school coach's wife and as a mom of both a middle school athlete and a Wingate student. She and her family live in Monroe.

Blythe Taylor has served as the Lead Success Coach at Wingate University since June 2010. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from Meredith College, and then continuing to receive her Master of Divinity degree from The Baptist Theological Seminar at Richmond. Before being involved as a Success Coach, Blythe served as an Associate Pastor at Wingate Baptist Church for four years and an Associate Minister at St. John's Baptist Church for eight years. Currently she also owns her our business, Blythe Taylor Coaching, which started in August 2008. 

Masoy M. Henry

Masoy, a native New Yorker, holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and African American Studies from the University of New Paltz and a Master of Science in Ministry from Pepperdine University. Masoy has held positions as a public school teacher, an adoption support services manager, and various residence life roles. Outside of work, Masoy enjoys studying the Bible, seeing live theatre, music, and sports, as well and Djaying, where he goes by the moniker, DJ (Masoy) Sauce. Masoy loves his role as Success Coach because he enjoys helping students become what they desire to be.

Alex Finley is the newest member of the Success Coaching team, having started in July 2013.  Prior to working at Wingate, Alex received a Master of Science degree in College Student Affairs from Eastern Illinois University and a bachelor's degree in Public Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.  Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Alex enjoys exploring the Charlotte area and meeting new people.

Chris Ziegler has served as a Success Coach since July 2010.  Chris worked in the sports information field at several small colleges before coming to Wingate, where she spent her first seven years as a member of the Residence Life staff. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Lee University and enjoys traveling, reading, volunteering, and country music. Chris and her husband, Sonny, live in Wingate with their dog, Brooks. Her personal mission statement is to make a difference in the lives of those around her, each and every day.

Erin Godly joined the success coaching team in July 2012. Prior to this she served as Wingate University's men's and women's graduate assistant tennis coach and success coach intern. She earned her Master's degree in Sports Administration from Wingate University, and enjoyed the opportunity to teach an undergrad Sports Management course this past spring. Erin has prior experience teaching elementary school; she received an undergraduate degree in Psychology/Special Education from Marist College (Poughkeepsie, NY). What she loves most about success coaching is that it enables her to combine her passion for coaching with academics as she advises first year students.
